Mackenzies Bakery served the Kalamazoo community for more than 40 years. When the time came for its original owners to step away and no successor could be found, The Mill Group stepped in to bring the bakery, its recipes, and its people to 103 Prairie Street in downtown Vicksburg.
In a building that has been feeding the community for over a century, Mackenzies serves artisanal breads, baked goods, and coffee—made fresh daily from scratch. Home to its well-known struan, a multigrain harvest loaf rooted in old-world tradition, the bakery has become one of the best reasons to make the trip to Vicksburg.
Since opening, Mackenzies has become a cornerstone of daily life in the Village—a place where neighbors meet, families celebrate, and the community reconnects. More than a bakery, it’s the kind of gathering place small towns had been missing for decades.
