The Story of 106 S. Main

The space at 106 S. Main, part of what’s known as the “Hill’s Building,” has been anchoring our downtown for generations. Several businesses occupied 106 in the early days, transitioning from drug stores to grocery stores to clothing stores. In 1933, Weeks & Brumbaugh 5 and 10 Cent Store opened its doors and lasted until 1981.

Vicksburg residents today still have childhood memories of change rattling in their pockets as they spent their allowance on goods at Weeks & Brumbaugh.
